Status: Full Accreditation for the Master of Science in Forensic Science

Florida International University, or FIU prides itself on its wide range of topics within the forensic science and criminal justice fields. Students can choose to learn about anything from DNA analysis to eyewitness testimony of children. Accredited by FEPAC, FIU is one of 13 universities to hold the accreditation at the master’s level.

FIU also has an online program for forensic science. Students are able to earn their Master of Science in Criminal Justice, accredited, through the online course program. Undergraduate degrees are also available through online programs. While attending this school, students must hold a grade of ‘C’ or higher in all courses, including the thesis. Admission Requirements

To be admitted into the Master’s degree program in Forensic Science, an applicant must:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited college or university
  • 3.0 GPA
  • 1000 or higher on the GRE
  • 2 letters of recommendation
  • Be accepted by a faculty sponsor
  • Complete application and payment of application (deadline is March 1st every academic year for the following Fall semester)
  • Receive approval from the Graduate Committee
