The Master’s Science program at Duquesne University is one of only 13 schools to be accredited at the master’s level for forensic science. FEPAC awarded the accreditation in March 2010, making it the newest of the group. DU provides its students with an exceptional 5-year curriculum, complete with opportunities for internships and research programs and taught by faculty of the highest standards. DU is excited to teach new prospective forensic scientists all about the evolving world of forensics through its new equipment and technology.

Founded in 1878 as a Catholic college by the Order of the Holy Spirit, Duquesne is the only Spiritan institution of higher education in the world. This school is located above downtown Pittsburg, PA and has a total of 10,363 students this (2010) academic year.

Admission Requirements

Admittance into this program depends on many things. Good grades through high school and the undergraduate level are key to beating the competition. However, test scores for the ACT and SAT are also just as important. Students should apply to the Office of Admissions and include the following items:

  • A complete application
  • All test scores

  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • Payment of the application and other fees
  • Personal statement
